Over 2000 Fiction Books and Audiobooks (average age 1989)

Over 6000 Nonfiction/Reference items (average age 1998)

10 Electronic Subscription Databases (encyclopedia, periodicals, etc.)

Facilities

The Northview Media Center is located at the northwest corner of the school. In addition to books, it includes an island of 9 computers that may be used for Internet research, word processing and also search stations. There is also a computer lab that teachers may reserve to bring their students down to do research or other various projects.

Checkout and Fines

Students may check out up to 4 books at a time for 10 school days.
Students are charged $.10 per day a book is overdue.

Media Center Rules

Students must have a pass.
Students must sign in and out.
Internet use requires a pass from the teacher giving the assignment.
Students must leave their agendas or passes on the circulation desk.
When students leave the media center you must have a media center staff member sign your agenda.
All Northview rules apply in the MC.
Computers are for school purposes ONLY! Games, web surfing, email, instant messaging, etc., will result in losing your computer priveldges.
No food and drink in the MC.
The media center is for students to come and work. Please do not socialize and disturb others.
One student per table starting at the east end of the media center.
Please push in chairs and pick up after yourself before you leave.
